AAOIC offers a variety of discounts. Many can be combined for savings of up to 50% in a single policy year. Recent orthodontic school graduates can save even more during their first year.

Discount for Recent Graduates*

If you insure with AAOIC within 24 months of graduation from an accredited orthodontic program you will qualify for the following discounts:

Claims-Made Coverage

1^st Year of Coverage: $25.00 (in most areas – conditions apply)

2^nd Year of Coverage: 50% of the base premium

3^rd Year of Coverage: 25% of the base premium

Occurrence Coverage

1^st Year of Coverage: $25.00 (in most areas – conditions apply)

2^nd Year of Coverage 40% of the base premium

3^rd Year of Coverage 5% of the base premium

Discount for New Insureds

All first-time AAOIC insureds receive a 25% discount off their first year’s premium.

Discount for Risk Management Attendance

AAOIC insureds who complete an approved risk management program will receive a 10% premium discount (subject to maximum premium discounts) when renewing. Insureds may attend a doctor’s risk management seminar at the AAO Annual Session or download and view the Risk Management video available for you in the “Informed Consent Documents and Other Management Forms” section of this website. The examination that accompanies the program must be completed and returned to AAOIC prior to receiving a premium credit.

Other Discounts

Military

Must be a former military orthodontist beginning private practice for the first time within 12 months of honorable discharge. The discounts are the same as for recent graduates.

Part-Time Orthodontist

If you are practicing twenty hours per week or less at all of your practice locations, you may qualify for a 40% premium reduction.

* The New Graduate discount will not apply to those graduates who did not insure with AAOIC during the initial 731 days following graduation. The New Graduate discount and First-Time Buyer’s discount cannot be combined.
